The History of Rum Point

The History of Rum Point

So named for remnants of rum barrels once washed ashore from floundering ships this pristine slice of the north side of Grand Cayman is a picturesque island retreat. With its extensive shallow waters shaded by tall Casuarina pine trees, RumPoint had long been a gathering spot for locals. When the original developers happened upon the shores of Rum Point they were immediately enchanted by this paradise. Rum Point Club, with its four employees, was originally operated by just candlelight and kerosene. Recognizing the historical importance of Rum Point, a group of  investors purchased the Rum Point Club in 1994 and made improvements to create an atmosphere welcoming to both locals and visitors while respecting the Club's free-spirited past and public affection. On behalf of the Rum Point staff it is our pleasure to perpetuate the inspiration of tranquility, friendliness and service inspired by the original developers and all those before us who have enjoyed these shores.
