A Fall Dive Event Not to Be Missed

World-class diving, scuba history and marauding pirates! Red Sail Sports, the premier dive operator in the Cayman Islands invites you to experience it all this fall.  The adventure begins with the International Scuba Diving Hall of Fame dive package available November 3 – 10, 2012 and continues with the week-long Pirate’s Week celebration in Grand Cayman November 10 – 17.

On this exciting weekend, you will be part of the dive industry celebration as the 2012 honorees are inducted into the Scuba Diving Hall of Fame. Enjoy spectacular diving by day and mingle with the pioneers of diving by night at the awards dinner and International Film Festival.

Inductees are recognized as the best in their field and their names are placed alongside other individuals who have been named to the Hall of Fame during the past 10 years.

This year’s Inductees include Clive Cussler, Leslie Leaney, Ron Kipp, Ric and Do Cammick, Kelly Tarlton, Armand and JoAnn Ziahn. ISDHF Board member and Red Sail Sports Operations Manager Rod McDowall said this is a great time to celebrate the sport of scuba diving.

“It is important that the industry recognizes the people that have founded and developed the sport,” said McDowall.“ They have made the oceans accessible to everyone and helped create an industry million of people worldwide enjoy and many are employed in.”

McDowall is one of eight board members from the international diving community. All of them have a vested interest in the sport. Born in South Australia, Rod moved to the Cayman Islands in 1982. He has since been an active leader in the dive industry of the Cayman Islands.

The ISDHF Dive Package Includes accommodations at the Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort ($188 plus 20% tax and gratuity per night), a daily two-tank dive ($90 per day), a free Sunset Sail aboard a 65’ Catamaran, dinner at the International Scuba Diving Hall of Fame Induction ceremony on November 7th and admission to the International Film Festival on November 8th, 2012.

Rod McDowall encourages divers to take advantage of the Scuba Diving Hall of Fame package because of the unique benefits it offers. “It is a fabulous opportunity to meet some of the industry greats while enjoying some of the best diving in the world,” he said.
